In February 2023, La Table des Amis de Provence offered “Truffle Hunt” to members and friends.

Have you tasted the local truffles from Provence? Would you like to spend a few hours on a beautiful farm in the Luberon where truffles are hunted (with dogs) and organic wine and olive oil are made? They live on Johann’s family farm and are the new generation, taking the art of truffle growing to the next level. They ship their truffles internationally to individuals and restaurants. And you can even adopt a truffle tree on their property and get regular fringe benefits. From Johann: “Our truffle hunts last at least 3 hours. First you would learn, in English and French, how truffles grow and how they can be farmed and hunted. We then go out on the farm with three dogs in search of the precious tuber. After we have found some, hopefully, you would discover the rest of our property with wild herbs, vineyards, olive groves and beehives. We then return to our outdoor kitchen to eat three different hors d'oeuvres made with truffles, followed by truffle ice cream with truffle honey, and finally a tasting of our organic extra-virgin olive oil, truffle oil and truffle salt, accompanied by all the Champagne you care to drink.
