In the inspirational tale Acres of Diamonds, a man sells his land and sets off across the world in search of riches. His quest ends in disappointment, while the land he left behind reveals a fortune in precious stones. The lesson is timeless: sometimes the treasures we seek are already close at hand.
For our next gathering, we have discovered not one but two precious gems right here in the Alpilles: the Distillerie des Alpilles and the traiteur L’Éveil des Papilles — “the awakening of the tastebuds.”
Join us for a day of discovery, conviviality and Provençal flavor as we celebrate two remarkable local treasures hiding in plain sight.
The distillery visit is free. After years of running Le Chapeau de Paille, one of Saint-Rémy's most authentic Provençal restaurants, Julien and Émilie Martinat found a new calling in crafting spirits.
During the visit, you will sample intriguing variations of Provence's favorite “Kool-Aid” — pastis! Their spirits are exceptionally well made, and we encourage you to purchase a bottle or two for yourself or as gifts.
Following the morning visit, we will move on to the cozy showroom and dining room of L’Éveil des Papilles for a three-course lunch, including wines from the Alpilles, water and coffee.
Program
10:00 — Welcome at the Distillerie des Alpilles, followed by the visit.
12:30–14:30 — Three-course lunch at L’Éveil des Papilles.
Both venues are located in the Zone Artisanale de la Massane, approximately 3 km west of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence.
€50 members / €55 non-members. Maximum 20 participants.
