In September 2022, La Table des Amis de Provence offered “Afghan Dinner” to members and friends.

Afghan Dinner 10 September 2022 Mas Notre Dame chemin de Bagna, Eygalieres 20h00 Have you ever wondered how people of different cultures have settled in Provence and have made a great success of sharing their hospitality and cuisine, such as an American and an Egyptian who had a cooking school/country inn in Saint Remy de Provence? But that is another story. This evening we would be hosted by Zaman, whom with his wife, the actress Charlotte de Turckheim have created a veritable paradise at the foot of the Alpilles in Eygalières with their upmarket chambre d’hote. On Saturday evenings from April to October they offer a dinner of Afghan dishes during which you would sample many courses of the typical dishes of this landlocked country in central Asia. Afghanistan is at a culinary crossroads between Turkish, Middle Eastern and Indian/Pakistani cuisines and the variety of flavors is amazing.
