Seminar and tasting of Côte du Rhone wines by Mike Rijken at Maison de la truffe et du vin Ménerbes

In July 2023, La Table des Amis de Provence offered “Seminar and tasting of Côte du Rhone wines by Mike Rijken at Maison de la truffe et du vin Ménerbes” to members and friends.

For 13 years, Mike was the hospitality manager for the prestigious Château de Beaucastel in Châteauneuf-de-Pape. Both Barney and myself have spent many a pleasurable hour with Mike in the cellars and tasting room at Beaucastel. Mike would give about an hour presentation on the Rhône Valley, with questions and answers. Then we would taste 6 wines from different areas of this prestigious wine region. The optional lunch would be at the restaurant of the Maison de la truffe et du vin following the wine tasting.
