Safari to Tuscany

In November 2025, La Table des Amis de Provence offered “Safari to Tuscany” to members and friends.

The Val d'oca in Tuscany between Rome and Florence is an exceptional food and wine region. It is also a place steeped in history and traditions. Arguably some of the best wine, olive oil, saffron, and truffles come from the region. Fall is an excellent time to visit the region, the grapes are in, many of the tourists have left and they’re bringing in the olives. They have volunteered to organize a weeklong stay which gives us a chance to thoroughly explore this rich area of Italy. They would plan guided tours focusing on the historical significance of special towns, many special restaurants that they have personally enjoyed. Our home base would be Monteleone d’Orvietto (as seen in the photo above). Hotels are all but nonexistent.
