Presentation of La Vie en Soie followed by lunch at Auberge de Carrières, Taillades

In December 2023, La Table des Amis de Provence offered “Presentation of La Vie en Soie followed by lunch at Auberge de Carrières, Taillades” to members and friends.

Joanna was born in Poland. She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and graduated from the School of the Chicago Art Institute. She joined the faculty at the University of British Columbia where she taught textile design courses for over 3 decades. Joanna has exhibited extensively on many continents. She specialized in large-scale tapestries that adorn the walls of major North American companies. Joanna is now creating one of a kind wearable art, clothing which is unique, simple and elegant. Our program for the day would be: 10h00 meet at Auberge de Carrières, Taillades (Parking du Stade, 2 minutes by foot). Dominique Brault, a neighbor of Joanna would give us a walking tour of this unique site to include admission to a chapel. Brault finishes the tour at Joanna’s house where we would enjoy an apéro. 11h30 presentation by Joanna in her atelier.
