In May 2023, La Table des Amis de Provence offered “Birdwatching in the Colorado de Rustel” to members and friends.
Learn to recognize birds during a beautiful walk in the stunning Ocres of Rustrel and enjoy this guided tour away from the trodden paths. Our guide, Elsie Koelstra shares her enthusiasm for birds. An avid birdwatcher, she knows to to recognize different birds and where to find them. With a touch of humour, she’ll tell many funny stories about nature, the Colorado and birds in particular. She would provide you with binoculars but if you have your own, bring them with you. Bring a hat, your own drinking water and dress appropriate to the weather. If it rains, the birds don’t sing…for that reason the bird walk would be cancelled. Domaine les Davids Viens The second event of the day is a wine tasting and lunch a short drive away at an exceptional winery, which traces its roots back to the 14th century. We would enjoy a tasting of their wines, a Provençal lunch on their terrace and a visit to their cellar.
